Guaranteed Ride Home

Have you ever carpooled to work and then discovered that you or your child is sick?  Guaranteed Ride Home is a free service available to Rest Your Car participants who report an alternative commute on the day they need a Guaranteed Ride Home.  Simply put, no matter how you got to work, the TMA will get you home in the event of a personal emergency.

How It Works

Rest Your Car participants who ride DART Express routes or Central Iowa RideShare to get to work can call DART at 515.283.8100 to make arrangements for a ride home.  

All other Rest Your Car participants who need a Guaranteed Ride Home can contact Capitol Cab at 515.282.8111 if they are required to leave work early due to an emergency.  

Guaranteed Ride Home only applies to trips between work and home and you must have logged an alternate commute for the day of use.  Additionally, there is a limit of three (3) Guaranteed Rides Home per year.
